Pinirmahan na ng Lungsod ng Tagum at Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC) ang kasunduan para sa Mental Healthcare Package nito lamang Mayo 24, 2024.
Ang naturang kaganapan ay pinangunahan ni Mati City Mayor Hon. Michelle Nakpil Rabat at PHIC Regional Vice President Atty. Harvey Carcedo kasama sina City Health Officer Dr. Ben Hur Catbaga. Jr. at PHIC Chief Social Insurance Officer Jonas Matthew Pang.
Ayon kay Dr. Catbagan Jr., “Access to mental health care is a significant challenge, not only in our country but globally. Here in the City of Mati, our journey to address this vital health need has been filled with numerous challenges and sacrifices. However, with the unwavering support of our esteemed Mayor Michelle Rabat and all our collaborating stakeholders, we have reached a point where sustainable financing for mental health care is now possible, thanks to our valued partners at PHIC.”
Dagdag pa niya, ang City Local Government Unit ng Mati, Department of Health at stakeholders gaya ng Philippine Charity Sweepstakes ay tulong-tulong na magbibigay ng mga gamit at kagamitan sa pasilidad.
Ito ang kauna-unahan sa buong bansa na LGU-initiated community-based mental health facility na magbibigay ng mura at kalidad na serbisyong pangkalusugan.
