President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. arrives in Zamboanga City Friday, November 28, 2025 to lead the roll out of government programs, projects and services for Indigenous People communities implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in barangay Sinunuc.
The president was welcomed by Mayor Khymer Olaso, Chief of Staff and Secretary to the Mayor Celso Lobregat, District I Cong. Kat Chua, and the Sinunuc Barangay Council led by chairperson Pilarica Ledesma.
Joining the president during the visit to Zamboanga City were DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, other DSWD national executives and regional officials and staff, and National Housing Authority (NHA) General Manager Joeben Tai among others.


A total of 411 IP beneficiaries received assistance through key DSWD programs, including the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS), Walang Gutom [No Hunger] Program Redemption, the Sustainable Livelihood program and Disaster Response Management family food packs.
Forming part of the programs rolled out was the awarding of 13 fishing boats complete with accessories to fisherfolk and the turn over the newly-constructed road improvement sub-project in Purok 4, Araneta Drive which is expected to benefit 5,135 households in the barangay.
